Heir of Amber and Fire by Rachanee Lumayno
I wrote my reviews backwards for this series - writing the review for book two first, then realizing that I had forgotten to write the review for the first book.
I want to reiterate that the world building in these books is something worth reading. Not every author can so easily invite you into a world of their imagination without a little confusion on the reader's part as we have to remember strange names, lands, customs, kingdoms, and races. However, this author is able to do just that. The author weaves words together in such a way that readers are drawn into the world and the story without confusion or needing to refer to maps and pronunciation guides. I love this about this series.
And, while there is a bit of everything in the story there is nothing that would prevent younger readers from enjoying this rich world and well-developed characters in a story that is worth remembering.
Well done Rachanee Lumayno - can't wait for more from you!
