David's Faith: A 30 Day Women's Devotional Based on the Life of King David by Mary Jane Humes

Joseph's Faith: A 30-Day Bible Study Devotional for Women Based on the Life of Joseph from the Book of Genesis by Mary Jane Humes

As with the other Heroe's of Faith studies this author has done this one is equally good. Take 30 days to explore and come to understand the depth and driving force of Joseph's faith

Lady of Lohikärra by L. L. Nelson

so....honestly I stepped into this book without reading the first three (which by the way I am now reading). But honestly, who would not want to give this book a shot based solely upon the cover art? The description, while great, did little to truly prepare the reader for the epic story that unfolds within the pages of this book. I was in love with Ina and Haldrek from the beginning and as always un-shocked by how quickly allies in such stories become enemies. I will certainly be reading more from this author!!

Saber, Roots of Hope by Monica Red

I don't hate the book, but I'm not in love with the writing style either. By this I mean that the story concept was amazing, the idea was promising, but somewhere it fell a bit flat. And I feel bad thinking this. Because I did enjoy it some the story is not bad at all. I feel that the Author has so much potential and that there is nowhere but up to go from here as her writing style and story telling (showing) matures and changes. In fact I have seen this happen with some very (now) famous author's whose first works were lacking in areas but as the series progressed and they wrote more you saw it. And....that is what I hope to see int he next books. Read this and be dropped into a harsh world with lots of action. Be prepared to be thrown off some when the character is speaking - sometimes it's not super clear, but even then you can overlook it for the story's sake. Monica Red, I look forward to reading the rest in this trilogy. I look forward to see the progression of your writing abilities. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to review your book! Received from StoryOrigin in exchange for honest review.

The Rediron Warp by Paul Yoder

This is my first book by Paul Yoder - and it has only created a love for his writing and world building. This is supposedly a new trilogy - therefore I picked it up thinking that for the time being it could stand-alone, that there was not any need for previous knowledge of the world or the characters in it. However, I believe this is closely connected with other novels (series/triologies) by this same author and I think to truly, and deeply appreciate the richness of this world one would want to read those books first or at the very least as well. So - that is precisely what I will be doing.....a Paul Yoder binge of trilogies (not that I mind after this book). Honestly, this is a great fantasy book - not necessarily dark, or not as dark as many of the dark fantasy books have been that I have read recently. And being fairly new to this genre, this is an author that would make you fall in love with it. looking forward to the rest in this series.

Rebel of Riddle and Woe by Levi Jacobs

And yet again the author continues a saga that is pretty amazing. I found this one to be thought provoking in many ways, as was the one prior to this. Maybe it's the little things the author writes that seem to echo in the head long after the last page is read. Maybe it's because the reality of life and the rawness of the emotions that guide us are so evident in the story and characters. More affects who we are and who we become than just where we come from. This book is rich and deep and fascinating. The reader will be swept away from reality and dive deep into the world Jacobs' creates and in that world they will grapple with everything the character's do. Excellent work yet again. Can't wait for more. Free copy from StoryOrigin in exchange for a review.

Witch of Wealth and Ruin by Levi Jacobs

The second book in an excellent series. In fact, I'd advise the reader to purchase all three books so you don't have to wait between books for the rest of the story. Alatheia knows what it means to be a piece in a game - to be owned and used. In this book she fights hard for her freedom and that of her friends. I think maybe this is why this book appeals to people - the struggle for freedom. Again - this book is filled with great world building and characters you will become attached to. Recieved as a review copy from StoryOrigin in exchange for an honest review

The Kingdom's Shadow by Celina Marquez

The adventures of Sasi continue in this second book and new as well as old character's are introduced as part of the new story. This is a great book for younger readers of the fantasy genre because battle scenes, while described, are not gory or overly violent and other action is also very mild. I would recommend this for those who like an easy fantasy story to read with great characters.

The Frosted Roses by Julianne Munich

What a delightfully wholesome and sweet story!! This has love, romance, adventure, challenges, and trouble - yet it get's tied up nicely in the end. This is one of those series that you simply must pick up and read!

The Shadow of Theron by Kathryn Troy

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is a truly fascinating tale, and only the beginning of a saga that the reader will not be able to leave off from. It is one of those stories that you wait on the next book with anticipation. The author has done an excellent job at laying out the storyline and allowing it to flow at just the right pace - not too fast, not too slow, cohesive instead of choppy or forced. The reader will love Lysandro's sweet fierceness and his protective nature, and they will be drawn in even further by the fiery character of Sera. What an amazing mix of adventure and love. Waiting for the rest of the story.

Deal with the Fae King by Silya Barakat

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is the first book I have read by this author - it will not be my last. in fact I can't wait to see more in this series. Aleyna makes a wonderful lead character and Doran is equally great. In fact I found it hard to dislike Doran even when I thought I should dislike him or his actions. The author did an excellent job of world building and character development. The characters had great depth and I loved the POV from Aleyna. At times my heart hurt for her in regards to her relationship with her family. I can't wait to read more. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Void and Valor by Ryver Knight

The end of an engaging series that has all the qualities of a binge-worthy series! The characters are deep, well-developed and likable. The world building is excellent and easy to follow and understand. The plot and story line is well-developed and strong. Over all this fantasy series is one that will be liked by many audiences. The reader is drawn in and becomes invested in the characters and just when you think the happily ever after is not within reach, that the good guy may not come out on the top - something happens. Excellent writing. I will be looking for more from this author. thank you for the review copy StoryOrigin.

Faeries and Fangs by Theophilus Monroe

So this author is new to me - I got the book as a review copy. I'd have to say that I will now be following this author and picking up books that are already published. I actually felt anxious at times in this book - and sadly I'll admit that this anxiousness to see the end or the outcome of a certain thing kept me up way past what is acceptable for a working mom. But, in all honesty it was worth it....well, worth it to get to the end where I still want to know more and can't wait to see this story play out in future books. This certainly has more twists than a single book should have but with each twist, turn, up and down the reader is drawn in, tensions build and emotions are caught up in a story that you want to see worked out. Great read. Thanks Theophilus Monroe for a great book! Very interesting imagination, I'd love to see the notes and sketches that happened before this was put to paper - or are you just that great of a wordsmith that this story flowed from your head to keyboard without any fore-planning at all? Best of luck as you continue to create captivating (and nerve-wracking) stories in the future!

The Silent Princess (A YA Action Adventure Fairytale Fantasy) by Mira Crest

My ratings keep going down with each of these books. I think the author has a great idea, great story line, but the writing needs some work. However, I still think the book is a good read for a weekend - in fact you could possibly read this entire series in a binge reading weekend and enjoy it just fine.

The Hunted Princess: A YA Beauty &the Beast Fantasy Romance (Princess League Series) by Mira Crest

A fairytale retelling of Beauty in the Beast that is worth the time to read. Although at times the writing is somewhat choppy I'd say overall the story is good. I am a fan of modern retellings of old classics - why not re-invent and revisit some of the stories we loved as children.

The Hidden Princess (A YA Action Adventure Fairytale Fantasy) by Mira Crest

I honestly expected more from this book, but still it was not terrible. I liked most of the characters, although Everette needed some depth; but then again, maybe this was on purpose. I am finishing off this series because I can't leave a series of books undone. I am hoping the next ones are a bit more cohesive. I found at times the author jumped from time and place within a few paragraphs - which could be absolutely confusing. Overall it is a sweet story. Received as a review copy from NetGalley

Beauty from Ashes by Pamela Hart

An allagorical story that points to the life of Christ. Love found in the midst of hardships and sacrifice. This books is based in a dystopian society where most people only know hardship. It points alot to the compassionate nature of Christ in regards to people. This is a YA novel, however, I would say that anyone would enjoy it.

Clash of Goddesses: The Complete Series by S.D. Huston

Celtic mythology and three sisters. A refreshing trilogy that is easy to binge read. I really enjoyed the world building and characters. I am glad that I received this review copy

Ravine Lereux: Unearthing A Family Curse - A Supernatural Short Story by E. Denise Billups

Following is an honest review in exchange for a review copy. E. Denise Billups I am now a fan of yours! There are authors who are gifted word-weavers, they have an ability to create deep, rich characters, compelling and engaging storylines that draw the reader in. Billups is one of those authors, creating a crisp, clean short story that is deep and colorful, rich in emotion, filled with characters that are not flat. This is simply put worth picking up. Grab a cup of tea (Cinnamon is my favourite for reading) and curl up under a blanket and slip into a story and a world that is not your own for an hour or so.

Raging Tides by Kris Ruhler

i received this as an free review copy in exchange for an honest review. The final book in this series ties up all the loose ends and answers any questions the reader had remaining after the other books. All three half-breeds must team up in order to save things. Essie's story comes to a dramatic conclusion that leaves the reader satisfied. I'd say this author does a unique and amazing job of blending fantasy and science fiction so well that you don't realize it. I will be reading more by this author.

War with Elves For Profit and Amusement by Timothy S Currey

I thought this would be a funny, maybe even snarky book with lots of off the cuff humour. While it's an easy read it's not as humorous as I thought it would be. And, although I felt it had a bit of a slow start I did hooked into the story. I like the mix of characters and the overall story. I got this as a review copy in exchange for an honest review. All in all I'd say it was good - in fact I do hope to se

The Superflare by Andrew Berger

Post pandemic there is no longer just one world - there are two worlds; the free man's and the other (mostly AI). This can get cringy - just the fact that it's an altered awful futuristic world and it causes you to consider what could be. The author does a great job of writing a story that is easily enjoyed with characters that are vibrant and likable. This was received as a review copy from NetGalley

Orlosian Warriors Limited Edition Boxed Set 2 by Dariel Raye

It's a wonderful set - since all these stories deal with the Orlosian Warriors (Nephilum) and their lives and love. A fair warning - if you read the first the fact that these are in a set will make them easy to binge read. Maybe, just maybe, start these on a long weekend and have snacks and tissues handy. Easy and enjoyable read

Heir of Amber and Fire by Rachanee Lumayno

I wrote my reviews backwards for this series - writing the review for book two first, then realizing that I had forgotten to write the review for the first book. I want to reiterate that the world building in these books is something worth reading. Not every author can so easily invite you into a world of their imagination without a little confusion on the reader's part as we have to remember strange names, lands, customs, kingdoms, and races. However, this author is able to do just that. The author weaves words together in such a way that readers are drawn into the world and the story without confusion or needing to refer to maps and pronunciation guides. I love this about this series. And, while there is a bit of everything in the story there is nothing that would prevent younger readers from enjoying this rich world and well-developed characters in a story that is worth remembering. Well done Rachanee Lumayno - can't wait for more from you!

Heir of Memory and Shadow by Rachanee Lumayno

This is the second in the series - I would highly recommend reading in order, however, you could maybe read this as a standalone. What impressed me most about this book is the world-building. I can honestly say that I am new to the fantasy genre - like as in I started reading it after the birth of my tenth child, in my early 40's (a year ago) and world building is precisely why I avoided this genre in the first place. There are some authors that are talented enough to bring you into a world without overwhelming you - this author does just that - beautiful!! This book, as with the first in this series is very much worth the time to read!

Assassin Hunter By Drew Briney

I was drawn to this book for two reasons; (1) the cover/Title, I know the old adage "don't judge a book by its cover", but I do - if the cover is terrible, well I am more likely to over look it, and (2) The Description of the book - it sounded like an excited story of moral complexity. In the beginning of the book I felt utterly lost - as if I was walking into the middle of a story, and I had missed everything. Although this seemed to clear up the longer I read I still felt lost at points. I also felt the book could have been a bit longer - I know, probably not a popular thought. However, when a book or story seems rushed it bothers me. I don't mind a little more detail, a little slower pace as the tension and action build. Over all though this was a good book and worth giving a chance.

Kremlin Tide By Cortez Law III

A criminal thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat! Absolutely fascinating with the multiple characters and the depth we are able to get to know each one. At times there is so much detail that I found myself being bogged down - however, I understand the reason for and need for such detail. When an author is writing a novel that involves many characters and is trying to show the mind of each such detail is important. My heart hurt for the Detective. Haven't we all lost our way or will at some point in time? I am interested in seeing more by the author.

Sacred Fire by Karen Grunst

A debut fantasy debut novel that does not disappoint. I can't wait to see Sarah's story develop more in the coming books! Even if you are not a fan of fantasy - give this book a try. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Grendel & Beowulf: Urban Magick & Folklore by C. Gockel

This is a retelling of an old story most of us are familiar with to some extent. However, the story gets a new face with different supernatural characters. Love, trials, self-discovery are a few of the things that come out in this excellently written book.

Forbidden Doors: an Anthology

This is an anthology of varied genre's. Since my genre list is varied and large and I am a reader open to trying just about any story this did not bother me. However, I think this may be an issue with some readers who prefer specific genres and steer away from others. It might've helped if the book was divided somehow into the various genres so that a reader could then pick and choose what stories they wanted to read. I received this as a review copy in exchange for an honest opinion on the work. I have to say that overall I thought it was great. No specific author or story was overwhelmingly excellent above the others and none was terrible. I enjoyed each story and was glad to be introduced to Indie Authors that may have individual work coming out in the future. I would say that this is an interesting compilation of stories and gives the reader an opportunity to try or test out various genres that they may not read on a normal basis.

Colette by Robert Hart

Colette is a book that will leave you feeling shattered and conflicted. It is heart-wrenching and inspiring all at one time. World War II has so many untold stories, that while ultimately tragic are intensely life changing and inspiring. One might pick up this book and think that the shortness of it will equal a simple story. And, one would be so terribly wrong. Packed into the pages of this book is a story so powerful that it will take your breath away and leave you pondering Colette for long after you have put the book away. Colette is a young lady who, at the start of the book, is facing imminent and certain death. She has done as much for her country and the cause as each man that took the field with arms. And her story is one of patriotism, love of others and country, sacrifice and courage. I do not know that I could have done what she did. From the first page to the last the reader will be hooked, drawn in and immersed into the thoughts, heart and emotions of Colette. And when the book is closed the message, the journey, the heartache and sacrifice and love will resonate in the reader leaving them inspired

Daughter of Flood and Fury by Levi Jacobs

A wonderful coming of age fantasy with a strong female lead character! The world building and character development in this book is outstanding. This is my first book by author Levi Jacobs and I can honestly say I can't wait to see more in this series as well as checking out his other books. Sometimes the fantasy genre produces books that are so far out there that it's hard to follow, or characters that are flat and uninteresting. In the pages of this book the reader is drawn into a world with characters who are rich and deep and resonate with the reader. Be prepared to be sucked into an epic adventure that will make it hard to put your book mark in and close the book to get back to the real world. This is one of those books that you pick up at night before bed and say to yourself, "I'll only read one chapter then off to sleep" only to look up at 3am and realize that you will only get 3 hours sleep before having to get up to go to work. And still the struggle will be to put the bookmark in and place it on the nightstand. Excellent work Levi Jacobs, can't wait to read more!!

Hammer and Anvil Lou Paduano

This is a fairly short read - I read it in one day. Although I thought the first bit was a tiny bit slow it quickly picked up. This is one of those books that once you are hooked into the story you don't want to put it down! You just really want to see it all the way to the end. I loved the world building and the character development. The action and suspense as the story unfolded was great. Certainly a book for a weekend read (or a day home from work with a cup of tea and a quiet house).

Gaurdian of Souls by Nim Riel

The daughter of the King of the Underworld, A reaper distrusted by everyone accused of treason. How will our main character clear her name and catch the real villian? This is a great book to read, character development is good, story line is good. Writing style is easy to read and enjoy.

The Blood of a Dragon by Jack Adkins

I'm new to books with Dragons so I can't say how this lines up with others written in the same type of genre. However, I can give an honest assessment based upon reading other fantasy novels. I found the book to be a bit slow to take off and halfway through the second chapter I did not know if I wanted to continue or not - but I did because I hate adding books to the DNF shelf unless I absolutely have given them a fair chance. And.....I'm so glad I stuck this one out!! The world building is so worth it all, and the characters are rich and enjoyable. The over all story and plot line was great. I have to say that I am excited to see the next book. Kudos to the author's first shot at writing a published novel - well done indeed!

The Daughter of the Selkie King by Lyndsey Hall

A very short read as far as stories go - this is one that you pack with you for a trip, or you curl up with on the weekend. Full of Selkie and Faerie and all that go along with that fantastical world. I would like to see more books with these characters and have their stories better explored. All in all a fair read for a weekend.

The Ancestor's Key by Marie-Helene Lebault

I wanted to like this book - but did not. It ended up on my DNF shelf after getting to 70% on my Kindle. I found that world-building was lacking, characters were as deep as a tea-spoon of water and lacked character. Story was good but just not for me. I received this as a review copy in exchange for honest review.

The Ring Keeper by AJ Park

I want to start off saying that I was excited bout this book. However, it was a bit difficult to get into primarily because the writing style is a bit different. I felt that the writing could be improved; such as sentence structure or longer sentences. I also felt that at times the descriptions did not evoke feelings or emotional response - almost like it was telling or informative. However, once I got past the writing style I found the story to be very interesting. This is a great book really and I would recommend it for YA audiences, or those who remember Willow. I received a digital review copy in exchange for my honest opinion of the work.

Searching for Direction by Brittney Farr

Searching for Direction is just as well written as the first book . The characters are strong and relatable. The reader can't help but become attached to characters and feel their emotions throughout the story. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Searching for Atonement by Brittney Farr

The thrilling conclusion to this faith-based dystopian fantasy book. Amina and Salome still have things to do in order to secure peace between the Hebrews and the Notzrim. This story of love, loss, courage and what it takes to survive and thrive is worth the read. Grab a copy and curl up for a good weekend read that will leave you satisfied.

She Reigns by Caitlin Dunman

"We can lead from a place of love instead of a place of power" The conclusion to the She Awakens series and it is anything back lacking!! As with all the other books the reader cannot help but care about Attina and hope that other characters see her and love her as well. absolutely a book that will not be easy to put down with the action, betrayal, love and journeys that twist and turn. Amazing conclusion to a binge worthy series!!

She Awakens by Caitlinn Denman

The Fae against humans in a Dystopian setting. What more could one want? I am a lover of Dystopian stories and with this one you have the added edge of a Fae and Human war that will change the world. Attina makes a likable and relatable character who is well-developed and easy to like. She is also easy to want the best for in the midst of a seemingly impossible situation

A Delicate Betrayal by Jessica Willis

Excellent world building and character development. The MC is a woman who is strong and unbreakable, but also kind and courageous. She makes the hard decisions and stands by her beliefs. The Knight is interested and I would like to learn more of his story in future books. Over all this is a good read, enjoyable and worth diving into

Shadow of the Sword by C. J. R. Isely

Knights, Squires, betrayal, battles, and triumph after heart ache! What more could a person ask for? I am new to this genre, but this book has me captivated and this author has made their place on my to be reads this year. I may spend time binge reading more books about the Knights of Alamore!

The Power of Blood by H.B. Lyne

A surprise of a book. Though it took of a bit slow it quickly became a book that could not be put down! Tragedy suddenly upends the life of the MC and she is thrown into things she never expected. I found this book to be a quick read that left me ready to read more.

The Assassin Reaper by Jessica Willis

A prequel that will have readers intrigued and ready to jump into a series that will no doubt be filled with action, lively characters and plots that will keep the reader entertained. This is a short read that packs a great story. The reader will not be disappointed by the world building, characters and plot.

She Conquers Caitlin Denman

Strong World building and great characters that grow and develop throughout the book. Destiny, friendships, betrayals, growing trust, love. ...
